Why Become an Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor?

There are many reasons for becoming an Emergency First Response Instructor.  Consider the following:

How Do I Become an EFR Instructor?

If you have a recognised Primary Care (CPR) Secondary Care and Child / Infant (First Aid & CPR) eg. EFR Primary, Secondary and CFC qualification and are at least 18 years of age, you can take the full Emergency First Response Instructor Training course conducted by our EFR Instructor Trainer.  If not we can add this to your training over 1 x evening session free of charge. 

Note: You must successfully complete the Emergency First Response Instructor exam.

What Subjects are Covered in the EFR Instructor Course?

To become an Emergency First Response Instructor, attend a full Instructor Training course or Instructor Crossover Program from our Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer.

• Emergency First Response orientation and why the course was developed
• Emergency First Response Corporation orientation
• Orientation to Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care, and Care For Children courses
• How Emergency First Response differs from other CPR and first aid courses
• Course design, flexibility and international consistency
• View portions of the Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care Video
• Skills review from the course, including CPR , Care for Children and AED use.

Suitable for

This fully accredited course is perfect for anyone wishing to fast track to EFR First Aid Instructor Status including:

• School Teachers / Support Staff needing to teach pupils in line with the latest government updates to teaching first aid in schools as part of the 2020 curriculum (also look at First Aid Leader in Schools)
• PADI/BSAC Professional Divers  
• Early Years establishments wishing to train their own staff
• Anyone with an interest in teaching First Aid

This two day course shall involve (2 days + 1 evening session (if needed)):

1. Prior reading of the EFR Instructor Guide (3-6 hours)
2. Completing an Online section in Emergency First Aid (3-6 hours)
3. First Aid with prior learning then the two day face to face course which includes the EFR Primary (CPR) and Seconday Care (First Aid) course and EFR First Aid Instructor course, both sharpening your first aid skills and arming you with the base knowledge needed to teach first aid.

Through a multi-media approach of independent study, classroom sessions and practical teaching assignments, you learn to conduct Emergency First Response courses.

You will:

• Learn how to structure and organise EFR courses
• Learn how to create a positive learning environment
• Learn how to successfully promote and market your courses
• Practice Presenting course content
• Practice Encouraging self-discovery in students
• Practice Evaluating student understanding and skill mastery during hands-on skills practice
• Practice Managing effective scenario-based learning experiences

Need to know

• Zero to Superhero! - You can enrol on this course with no prior first aid experience and by the 2nd day qualify as an EFR Instructor.
• The prior reading and online section of this course must be completed before attending the face-to-face training.
• Once qualified, when you deliver a course you shall need to purchase from EFR for each candidate a) a course manual b) course completion authorisation (CCA). 

Crossover to Emergency First Responder Instructor

If you are an Instructor in CPR with another agency you can take the Instructor Crossover Program from an Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer.  For information about the specific topics covered in the course, please see the Emergency First Responder Instructor section for details.

Prerequisites:

To enter the Emergency First Response First Aid Instructor course you must be 18 years old.

Need to know

Zero to Superhero!  No previous experience needed to complete this full course. 

You can enrol on this course with no prior first aid experience and by the 2nd day qualify as an EFR Instructor and hold a valid first aid certificate.

Course Delivery: Blended - Online, prior reading and face to face delivery.

Certification: Certification will come from "Emergency First Responce" once course successfully completed and membership paid.

Duration: 2 Days plus 1 evening session if needed

Recognised by: HSE / PADI

Course Cost: £150pp.  Excluding materials

Extras:  

1. Application for membership. This is payable directly to PADI / EFR and is currently £105.60 on the final day of your course.

2. Materials - Each candidate must purchase an Instructor Crew pack @ £202.00 per person before attending this course through Emagination Training.
