Using HD videos and written guidance, this paediatric first aid level 3 awareness course is specially designed to help people learn new skills and knowledge, or refresh existing first aid skills, in order to have more confidence to take action at the time of an incident.
Who should enrol on this Paediatric First Aid Course?
This online paediatric first aid level 3 awareness course is suitable for anyone who works, volunteers or lives children and babies, for example babysitters, parents, carers, after-school club workers, coaches, school teaching assistants and volunteers etc. The course is suitable for anyone wishing to learn new first aid skills or refresh their existing knowledge. No previous qualifications are needed to complete the training as all paediatric basic first aid techniques are covered in detail throughout this course.
Will this course allow me to become a Qualified First-Aider?
No! For environments with significant health and safety risks, a formally trained paediatric first-aider may be required on-site to deal with accidents. The level and type of training that is appropriate will be determined by the company’s risk assessment. To become a “Nominated” and “qualified” paediatric first aider complying with Ofsted regulations for early years children, you will need to undertake the “Paediatric First Aid Level 3” 12 hours / 2 days training course or Blended course (we provide this training). Those holding a “Paediatric First Aid Level 3 6 hours” qualification may assist in the workplace under the direct supervision of the “nominated” person described above who must be onsite at all times.

Course Content
The Primary Survey - Casualty Management, The Priorities of Treatment, First Aid Kits, Record Keeping and The Primary Survey.
The Secondary Survey - The Recovery Position, Spinal Injuries, Shock and Serious Bleeding.
Resuscitation - CPR for Adults, Children and Babies and AED (Defibrillators)
First Aid for Secondary Injuries - Burns and Scalds, Head Injuries, Fractures/Broken Bones, Eye Injuries, Choking, Allergies (Auto Injector use), Asthma, Heat Stroke, Nose Bleeds and Cuts and Grazes.
Illnesses and Conditions - Diabetes, Epilepsy, Febrile Convulsions, Sprains and Strains and Poisoning.
